Coupled with track recognition, the simulator allows constant communication and interaction between the driver and respective coach. Being able to see the driver's track position as well as both steering and pedal inputs allows much more to be learned about the driving style and allows teaching to become more efficient. At the track it is not possible for the driver coach to see the driver inputs or track position closely. In the CMS simulator, however, it is possible for the driver coach to watch the driver’s hands and feet movement through live CCTV and through live telemetry data whilst looking at the car on the track.
In addition, it is possible to overlay a ghost car image of previous laps by the driver at the end of each stint. Merging a number of laps together and playing them simultaneously allows both the driver and coach to analyse the driver’s consistency throughout the lap. This allows the driver to see visually where time is being gained or lost.
